Magnum Returns to Swansea Bay for the Wales Air Show

July 2011

The bi-annual Wales National Air Show returned to Swansea Bay on July 9th and 10th as it attracted Record Breaking spectators. Hosted by the City and County of Swansea Special Events Team, the Air Show based over a stretch of prom measuring 1km. At the Cenotaph to the west, there were a huge variety of aviation themed stalls, stands and exhibits as well as a small fairground. To the east, the Swansea Civic Centre hosted hospitality to the dignitaries.

The main challenge to Magnum’s engineers as in 2009, was to cover the site at the Cenotaph and the 1km run along the prom towards the Civic Centre to the VIP Hospitality tent.

Magnum used the success of the sound relay at the 2009 Air Show as a basis of the structure for the sound at the Cenotaph and along the prom.
