Sŵn Festival - Cardiff

Magnum supplied PA systems and equipment to a total of 6 Cardiff venues for the recent 3 day Sŵn festival. The festival welcomed over 150 acts this year with more visitors than ever before turning out to enjoy the vast cross-section of music, culture and industry seminars Sŵn has to offer.

Magnum provided full festival PA systems, microphones and engineers to five venues (The Gate Bar and Theatre, Dempseys, Y Fuwch Goch and Model Inn) varying in size from 150 capacity to 400. We also provided a number of DJ setups consisting of CDJ1000 MK IIIs, DJM 600s and Technics 1210s. Much of the PA equipment provided was Logic System with control from Soundcraft and microphones from Shure, Audio-technica, AKG and Sennheiser.

The festival is based mainly around the venues of Womanby Street, Cardiff but also has entertainment in other venues including Barfly, Cardiff University Students Union and The Gate Arts Centre. One of the festival directors is Radio 1’s Huw Stephens, famous for promoting new talent in the UK.
