Magnum supplied PA systems and equipment to a total of 6 Cardiff venues for the recent 3 day Sŵn festival. The festival welcomed over 150 acts this year with more visitors than ever before turning out to enjoy the vast cross-section of music, culture and industry seminars Sŵn has to offer.

Magnum engineers were recently enlisted to provide lighting for a live show by the Welsh comedy and singing legend Max Boyce. This one-off performance was specially for the Caravan Club’s national meeting at Pembrey Country Park and was based in a large marquee.

Another of the City and County of Swansea Special Events team’s summer celebrations was the World Party Weekend held at the National Waterfront Museum in the city. An event designed to celebrate the multicultural population of the city saw a hugely diverse range of performances. Traditional Chinese dance, Samba music and classical Spanish guitar were just some of the colourful and different acts featured during the two-day festival.

Magnum was honoured once again to provide sound and communication equipment to one of the UK’s largest agricultural shows: Pembrokeshire Agricultural Society’s Annual Show held at Withybush Showground, Haverfordwest in West Wales.

Magnum Sound was approached by Llandeilo Festival of Music and Flowers's organiser Julia Jones to provide sound, lighting and staging once again for the festival. Magnum has a history of providing equipment to accommodate artists throughout the week of concerts but 2009 was to be a particularly special year as the festival would welcome Sir Willard White, the world famous bass-baritone singer.

Hosted for the first time on this scale by The City and County of Swansea Special Events Team, the Wales Air Show was a two day event based over a stretch of prom linking the two main sites of the show. The first site was the Cenotaph to the west which featured a huge variety of aviation themed stalls, stands and exhibits while the second site to the east: the Swansea Civic Centre hosted a fairground, hospitality to the dignitaries and the main commentator.

Magnum recently provided a complete production solution for Party on The Pitch at Tycroes RFC near Ammanford, South Wales. Chesney Hawkes headlined the one day festival with music from bands including The Monophonics and an extremely energetic set from Fat Barry’s Soul Band. With Magnum providing Stage, Sound, Lighting and Video in one package, organisers were free to concentrate on non production issues.

Magnum recently had the pleasure of supplying the PA system for 3 dates at the same venue for one of Wales’s greatest exports: The Super Furry Animals. Sub 29 at Cardiff’s Millennium Plaza was the ideal venue for what was initially going to be a one-off warm-up gig before the band embarked on their hectic festival season dates. Ticket demand quickly transformed the date to two and later three nights, a great indication of Cardiff’s demand for the band and their unique and electrifying live performances.
